Ahiru - Episode 6 Wig Test by Spwinkles Ahiru - Episode 6 Wig Test by Spwinkles
Nooo surprise, I'm doing another Ahiru cosplay. I have a bad habit of cosplaying multiple outfits of characters I really like.... This is one I've wanted to do for a looong time! So I'm going to finally tackle it. I hope to have it done by Fanime.

This wig is for her episode 6/Sleeping Beauty ballet outfit.
I followed a few tutorials online on how to do the bun. I think I used this one the most for reference: [link]

It's an odango tutorial but it could be modified~

I also used the FW ink dye instead of sharpies this time to get it darker.
Dye info here: [link]

There's a few more things I want to work on--like, flating some of the back with hairspray, getting lighter bobby pins and try to get the crown a little straighter.
This wig is KINDA heavy and slides back a little because of the bun. At least it's not as heavy as Toph is. I still have to bobby pin it everywhere. :\

There's probably a better way to do it now what I did was take a piece of sturdy plastic and cut it into the shape of the cowlick. Then I took a few good pieces of wig hair and glued hair all over the piece. I then hair sprayed it so it stayed in place.  I then cut a small slit into the wig itself and stuck the piece in, gluing around it. (Just be careful the glue doesn't show too much.) and that's about it! :)

I had to mix a few colors: flame orange, process magenta and white. I experimented a few times to see how many drops of each color I used. I think only one white drop, it's been a long time since I dyed this wig. xD But those were the three I used.

Thanks! I can't wait to finish! I was supposed to have it done last year but lots of stuff came up and I didn't want to rush it.

After an attempt working with tulle, I decided I never wanted to work with it again! xD I found a tutu online and dyed it yellow. It's not a pancake tutu but I think it'll work well enough for the Sleeping Beauty outfit.
