Ahiru wig number 2

This wig project was something I started back in February but life and other cosplay projects got in the way. I finally finished it up yesterday. (For the most part.)
My first Ahiru wig (which is here: [link]) is getting kind of ratty since I've worn it way more than I had planned. XD; It's not *too* bad, but wigs just get wilt-y after a while.
After ALA this year I decided I wanted to make a new one. While I started styling the wig for the Sleeping Beauty-Ahiru cosplay, I thought I'd start this one too.

This time instead of using a pink wig base, I used a light blonde one (Color 613) as well as matching extensions.

I used the FW ink dye method with this wig too. (Finally got the hang of it. lol) The ratio was something like, for every 1 cup of alcohol, I used 6 drops of process magenta, 1 1/2 drops of white, 1 drop of orange and 1 drop of scarlet. Sometimes I'd leave out scarlet if I thought the color was coming out too dark.

The braid on this one is much longer than my first one. This was what I wanted the first one to look like but I messed up some of my extensions on that first wig so I had a skinnier, shorter braid in the end.
Because of that, this wig is much heavier than that one. It sits on my head pretty well despite the weight but i might put hair pins or bobby pins to make sure it's extra secure.
For my first wig I actually was able to sew in the extensions. This time they were too thick to pass through the sewing machine so I hot glued the heeeck out of them.

So that's pretty much it! I may work with it a little more before I wear it, like...maybe try to make those floofy-side bangs again (or at least get them to stick up more) and not have the end of the braid look so blunt.
